Datadev : I consider myself a non-conformist, that is, whenever I face problems or needs, I wonder what I could do to solve them. Being that type of person, I am always aware of the needs and difficulties that people experience in their daily lives. This mentality made me found Datadev.
How did the idea for the project come about and how many people are involved?
The idea for this endeavor starts from my inclination for the field of data science. Realize that the demand for professionals in this area by companies is huge. We try to find out what the challenges of consulting, recruitment, private companies, public sector, digital recruitment platforms face, to hire Data Scientists, as well as the challenges faced by professionals who work as freelancers. After interviewing several companies and freelancers, we concluded that Data Science has grown exponentially around the world, and in Portugal in particular, because many companies have created services that do not offer enough professionals to meet demand. nearshore in the area of technology and, at this moment, both the market and universities

Datadev also offers “Developer as a Service”, which is a talent outsourcing service in the IT area remotely but focused on the area of Software Development, Data Science, and WEB and Mobile Technology. Datadev is a marketplace aimed at companies (recruitment companies, multinationals, startups, government entities) that intend to recruit Developers and freelancers with more than 3 years of experience in international projects and specific technology.

Datadev is a marketplace aimed at companies (recruitment companies, multinationals, startups, government entities) that intend to recruit Developers and freelancers with more than 3 years of experience in international projects and specific technology.
What are the challenges they face?
Being a company that is in an initial phase, just leaving an acceleration program, the difficulty is the initial traction, because we still don’t have a budget to invest in advertising, and we use non-scalable activities to find our first customers.
What are the next steps the company will take?
We will continue to talk to potential client companies to fully understand their problems in recruiting freelancers, so that they test the platform, incorporating their feedback to improve the product. We already have a sufficient database of freelancers and we hope that companies can start recruiting on our platform now.
What was the strategy implemented to keep your company running with the Covid-19 pandemic?
The implemented strategy was to continue to offer our services since we are apologists and promoters of telework in our company. This crisis only guaranteed that the strategy we were using was the most correct.
What advice or warning do you give other companies to overcome this crisis?
Companies that have the resources to migrate to digital and start offering services using digital forms, we advise you to restructure your business model so that you can implement a 100% digital strategy.
